Meka Srikanth a multi talented telugu actor who is well known as Srikanth. He is born on March 23rd, 1968 whose family is from Gangavathy, Karnataka. Actually Srikanth was born in Vijayawada. He completed his graduation in Commerce (B.Com) and also got a diploma from film institute. Srikanth got married to Uma Maheswari who is popular as Actress Ooha. She acted with him in the films like “Aame” and “Aayanagaru”. Srikanth has blessed with three kids named Roshan, Medha and Rohan.

Film Journey 

He started his film career with minor roles as villain and support artist. Srikanth started his career with small roles in telugu industry after completing his course in acting, acted as a villain in hit movies like “Sitaratnam Gari Abbai” and “Varasudu” opposite Nagarjuna. Srikanth’s first movie acted is “People’s Encounter” produced by Usha kiran movies under the direction of Mohan Gandhi. The first notable hit came to him in 1995 with the movie “Taj Mahal” and the film is produced by Movie Moghal Dr.D.Ramanaidu under the banner of Suresh Productions. The movie became super hit.

From then onwards he has no need to look back. He became a superstar with the biggest blockbuster of the year “Pelli Sandadi”, which is directed by K.Raghavendra Rao. After “Pelli Sandadi”, Srikanth acted under the direction of S.V.Krishna Reddy and gave some good hits like “Vinodam”, “Egire Pavurama” and “Aahvaanam” etc. His hit movies were “Khadgam”, “Sankar Dada M.B.B.S”, “Pellam Orelithe”, “Yemandoi Srivaru”, “Kshemanga Velli Labhanga Randi”, “Oo Chinadana” and “Mahatma”. His early break came with “Tajmahal”. Sri Kanth is the only star after the Mega Star Chiranjevi got success in Telugu industry with his own hard work and without any support. “Mahatma” is Srikanth’s 100th movie and directed by creative director Krishna Vamshi.

Srikanth was initially appreciated by almost all the top directors like K.Raghavendra Rao, E.V.V.Satyanarayana and S.V.Krishna Reddy etc for his dedication and discipline. Srikanth considered being the best character hero in Telugu movie industry. After “Mahatma” his films were “A Aa E Ee”, “Ranga the Donga”, “Dushasana”, “Virodhi”, “Sri Rama Rajyam”, “All the Best”, “Shirdi Sai”, “Lucky”, “Devaraya”,  “Sevakudu”, “Shatruvu”. His recent release “Shadow” with Victory Venkatesh got mixed response and once again critics praised for his acting. Currently he is working for the film  “Anucharudu”.

Satruvu movie review

Story: Anu (Aksha) is the daughter of the city' mayor and heir to a fortune running into thousands of crores. Some unidentified killers hatch a plan to kill her but is saved by Shankaranna (Srikanth), a small time conman. She appoints Shankar as her bodyguard to protect her from her unknown nemesis.

Movie Review: When people want an opinion about a movie, they don't go asking if the performances are intense, or if the direction incredible, or if the editing is ground breaking. More often than not they just want to know if the movie is any good at all. Most reviews are extended answers of the same question. To put it simply, this movie is just too lame! Read on for the extended analysis.

We have Anu, a typical damsel in distress who loses her in her childhood. She is the daughter of the city's mayor on the threshold of inheriting a fortune running into a few thousand crores. It has to be said all's not well between the father and daughter. Anu hates the corrupt ways of her dad and goes abroad to pursue her studies. Thanks to a few unforeseen turn of events she lands in Hyderabad.

One day she is attacked by some unidentified goons. Shankaranna (Srikanth) a small time goon comes to her rescue. Anu promptly makes him an offer to be her bodyguard and clings on to him for her dear life. Meanwhile, the CBI is in hot pursuit of a benami land owner who own properties worth crores. There are a few more twists in the tale before the villain is revealed. How our man saves the damsel in distress is what the movie is all about.

The movie is all about Anu and the filmmaker seems to have added Srikanth's character as an afterthought. Srikanth does his bit to breathe life into a poorly conceived character but it just doesn't add up. Aksha has a lot of screen space but the script is so slipshod that no amount of acting was going to save the day for her.

It seems like a B-Grade action film from the nineties and everything looks too outdated. There are too many loopholes in the script and the execution so analysis into what all went wrong will be a waste of time.

Story

Vijayawada SI Ramachandrayya(Nasser) who is honest and sincere believer of law, dreams that one day his son Surya(Srikanth) will become a police officer and do what he couldn't do. Put all the powerful goons behind the bars!. Surya is already into action delivering justice in his own style saying 'No Judgement...Only Punishment' and asking all to break the rules.

Surya who later has change of mind comes to the city as Police Officer only to be arrested for the murder of NRI Lakshmi Krishna Prasad(Krishna) who comes to Vijayawada to serve the poor offering free education and treatment by constructing schools and hospitals. What is the real mystery behind the murders and how Srikanth fulfills his father's dreams and aspirations should be unraveled on silver screen.

Performances

Srikanth proved that if given a chance he can shine in powerful roles. Though his dances looked routine, his dialogue delivery and ease in action is quite good. Charmi did not have any scope for performance but she looked hot. Nasser once again came with top class performance. Krishna and Manjula with their special appearances generated interest in the film.

Analysis

Director Samudra made mess of entire story with out concentrating on script and screen play. He forgot the fact that politics is a vast area and he can not offer solution to each and every problem. He started off on a good note to show the strengths and weakness of police force and had he wove the script sticking to it accordingly it would have worked out well. But he included scams,black money, terrorists, rapes,politicians, criminals and what not.

Finally he failed at finding a suitable ending. He talks about changing the system and makes mockery of Indian democracy with PM and President leasing out Vijayawada to an unknown NRI and a highly temperamental son of an SI. Ultimately he ended testing the patience of viewers though the movie has some good message.

Technicals

Editing could have been better for entire part of the film.Director could have done away with some gory scenes like chopping off heads. Comedy of Brahmanandam is forcibly inserted. Music of Srikanth Deva is below average but BGM is ok. Choreography could have been better.

Sevakudu spoiled the show with too many ingredients.

 

Devaraya movie review

Family hero Srikanth is trying his hand at socio fantasy for the first time with ‘Devaraya’. Nani Krishna is the director of this movie and Chakri scored the music. The film has Vidisha and Meenakshi Deekshit in the lead roles opposite Srikanth. After some delay, the movie has released today across Andhra Pradesh. Let us see how ‘Devaraya’ is.

Story :

Dorababu (Srikanth) is a village playboy who believes in enjoying life to the fullest. He falls in love with Swapna (Vidisha) and she too responds to his affection as she sees the good side of his nature. She tries to get Dorababu to mend his ways but her grandfather (Ranganath) is staunchly against the alliance.

As this story is going on, an archaeologist (Sivaji Raja) discovers some items belonging to Sri Kirshna Devaraya in the Godavari delta and decides to investigate the matter. With the help of Ranganath, he tries to translate an ancient diary that belongs to the Legendary Telugu King.

Some startling secrets come out in this process and everyone discovers that Dorababu has a connection with Lord Krishna Devaraya. He has some unfulfilled promises to keep and Dorababu is now required by the forces of nature to sacrifice himself for that promise. What happens next is the story of the film

Plus Points :

Srikanth’s performance is ok in this movie. As Dorababu, he tried to imitate Megastar Chiranjeevi’s style for the comedy department. During his performance as Krishna Devaraya, he tried to imitate Sr NTR’s diction and dialogue delivery.

Vidisha is good and she may have some future in the industry if she takes care of her projects. Meenakshi Dixit is strictly average. Veteran actor Balayya, Ranganath, Sivaji Raja, M.S. Narayana, Raghu Karumanchi and Jayaprakash Reddy try their best to liven up the proceedings to a certain extent. Some visual effects and a few scenes from Krishna Devaraya’s court have been shot well.

Minus Points :

The plot of this movie has more holes than a sponge and just like a sponge soaks up water, this film will soak up the viewer’s patience. There is virtually no story in the first half and there are way too many bad songs.

The scenes are loud, poorly written and have absolutely no logic. If you had a great image of King Sri Krishna Devaraya, you will be disappointed with the way he has been portrayed in this movie.

There are too many foolish sequences in the film. In the flashback episodes, King Krishna Devaraya’s character keeps shifting between present day Telugu and ancient Telugu in the same dialogue!! The actor who is seen as Jayaprakash Reddy’s brother looks very comical with a hideous wig. The central plot of trying to build a cement factory in a place containing an ancient temple is never given its due importance.

The placement of songs is atrocious. Just when the film tries to gain some momentum, these songs appear and drive the pace right into the ground.

Some graphics sequences are very poorly executed and while that is understandable, given the low budget of the film, they should not have been attempted in the first place with such limitations.

Chakri’s music and background score make things worse. The climax simply falls flat and there is no reason for that Chandramukhi style dance (with the Chandramukhi costume) in the first place.

Technical Aspects :

Nani Krishna’s direction is poor and he does not have any grasp over the basic aspects of narration and screenplay. Editing is atrocious. Cinematography is just about ok. Veerababu’s dialogues are bad.

Like I said before, Chakri’s music is very bad and he does not lend any strength to the movie. Production values are mediocre.

Verdict :

Srikanth is a nice guy with a family hero image and it is sad to see him in films like this. ‘Devaraya’ is a movie that has absolutely nothing going for it. Do yourself a favour and stay away from it unless you want to watch the movie out of an academic interest to see what shouldn’t be done by a director.
