THE NINE YARD BEAUTIES

The fashion gurus of India would have surely smiled in approval had they been present at the farewell party of the final year students of St Francis College For Women. For when it comes to trend spotting, Hyderabadi youngsters are always on the money. Cocktail saris in single, dark colours with embellished borders and borders in vibrant hues were hot on campus. Of course, black was still a fave among many, but the pop colours on the border cut for a stylish picture.

Villa Marie students hot poses

Fun wala farewell

It was an afternoon of both laughter and tears for the girls of Villa Marie Junior College, who hosted their annual farewell party — Alvida for the 2013 batch. The seniors dazzled, looking their glam best in saris, even as the enthusiastic juniors put up an exciting show. The highlight of the event was the Miss Villa competition where the seniors competed with each other for the winning title.
After rocking the various contest rounds, Shreya Bharati from the Commerce department was crowned Miss Villa. The dances set to tunes like Lath Lag Gayi and Party On My Mind were a big hit and needless to say, there were shout-outs for an encore! After all the students hit the dance floor with much fervour, the event ended on a delicious note with a lavish lunch that was served.
