Star Portrait-Tarun


Tarun Kumar is well Known as Tarun is one of the prominent heroes in Telugu film industry. He has also worked in Tamil and Malayalam cinema. His other names are Lover Boy, Dream Boy, Choclate Boy, Youth Hert Throbe. He was born on January 8, 1983. He is the eldest son of noted actress Telugu and Tamil Roja Ramani and Oriya actor cum producer Chakrapani. He has only one sister Amulya. He completed his schooling in Venkata Subbarao Boys High School in Chennai Up to 5th class and from 6th to 10th he studied in BharathiyaVidhyaBhavan, Hyderabad. He completed his degree in BBM from the Bangalore University. Following his mother's footsteps, he has acted in numerous films as a child artist. Later on he entered into film industry as a lead actor with the film “Nuvve Kavali” went on to become Tollywood's biggest blockbuster for the year 2000 He is an accomplished cricketer and participates in Celebrity Cricket League.
Film Career.
Tarun started his acting career at the age of eight, under Usha Kiran Movies production. He won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist in 1991 for the Tamil film “Anjali” directed by Mani Ratnam. He became famous overnight with the success of Mani Rathnam’s “Anjali” in 1990. He acted as Anjali’s older brother. He received the National Film Award for Best Child Artist along with Shyamili and Shruthi In the same year, he acted in the Malayalam children's film, Abhayam. The film won the National Film Award for Best Children's Film and Tarun won the Best Child artist Award at the Japanese film festival. He won three Andhra Pradesh state Nandi Award for Best Child Actor. He has also acted with Superstar Rajinikanth in the 1991 Tamil blockbuster “Thalapathi”. Later he did a TV Serial "Wonder Boy" for which he awarded Nandi Award with his outstanding Performance. And also did as an anchor for children Quiz Programme in Television. He also did ads for Fanta and Spinz Talc. Later on Tarun made his re-entry in a lead role with the love story “Nuvve Kavali” in 2000 it went on to become Tollywood's biggest blockbuster at time of its release. He frequently appears in Romantic comedy films. His other releases in 2000 were “Uncle” and “Priyamaina Neeku”. In 2001, he was cast in “Nuvvu Leka Nenu Lenu” and “Chirujalla”. Tamil film Senthil’s “Punnagai Desam” in 2002 did moderate business. This was followed by “Nuvve Nuvve” in 2002 with Shriya Saran. Tarun and Shirya Saran were paired together again in “Ela Cheppanu” in 2003. In the Tamil movie “Enakku 20 Unakku 18”, he worked with Trisha and Shriya. “Sakhiya” in 2004 and “Soggadu” in 2005 were his other releases. “Bhale Dhongalu” in 2008 was the remake of the Hindi hit “Bunty Aur Babli” and didn’t enjoy the same success. Tarun's next movie is Krishna Vamsi’s “Sasirekha Parinayam” with Genelia D’Souza. In 2011 he started filming of “Chukkalanti Ammayi Chakkanaina Abbayi” with Vimala Raman which is released in 2013.  Currently he is working for two films one is “Anucharudu” and second is “Yuddam” these two movies are under filiming.
