Prabhas Raju Uppalapati who is well known as Young Rebel star Prabhas is one of the Tollywood best heroes. He is the heartthrob of many people especially girls may die for his films. He continues to have a large, loyal fan base among Telugu people, especially among females and young men. He was born on 23rd October 1979 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu to the couple U. Suryanarayana Raju and Siva Kumari. Although he was born in Chennai his parents belongs to Mogalturu village in West Godavari District. Prabhas has two siblings, he is the younger one of all, and his elder brother name is Prabodh and one sister Pragathi. He is the nephew of Rebel Star Krishna Raju.
Film Journey
He entered into film industry in 2002 with the film “Eeshwar” about a poor boy falling in love with a rich girl at the time of its release he received best complements from critics. He is active for more than a decade in industry and He has acted in many blockbusters and youthful family entertainers. He got chance to perform in lead character in the film “Raghavendra” in 2003. His third film “Varsham” reversed his fortune which was created a sensation at box office in 2004. Then he acted under the direction of B. Gopal in Adavi Ramudu, which miserably failed at the box office. In Krishna Vamsi’s” Chakram” which was released in 2005 he played a cancer patient, which performed moderately at the box office. However in the same year the film “Chatrapathi”, 2005 with Shriya Saran was a huge success and marked a turning point in his career. The movies which followed like Pournami in 2006, Yogi and Munna in 2007 and Bujjigadu in 2008 however failed to leave an impact at the box office. In 2009 Prabhas was seen in “Billa” which is a reworked Telugu version of the hugely successful bollywood film “Don”. This film turned and super hit and He shared screen space for the first time with his real life uncle, Krishnam Raju Uppalapati. Some of the films that he has acted include Eeshwar, Raghavendra, Varsham, Adavi Ramudu, Chakram, Pournami, Yogi, Ek Niranjan, Darling, Mr. Perfect, Bujjigadu, Billa, Munna, Rebel, Mirchi etc. Now he is currently busy with the film “Baahubali” under ace director Rajamouli’s direction which is going to release in three different languages Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. With this film Prabhas is going debut into Kollywood and Bollywood industries.
